The Havel River and its many lakes provide ideal places to go swimming. The numerous solitary coves in pristine nature make for nice stops to drop anchor along the way.
Swimming surrounded by nature
When the sun shines and the water is pleasant, the many natural beaches with extensive areas of shallow water teem with vibrant life. The sand beaches, swimming areas and many small bathing coves that can be reached from shore make for wonderful beach holidays.
Water quality
The water quality of swimming areas officially designated as EU bathing sites is checked regularly by official inspectors. These swimming areas are marked with the EU logo on the Wasserwanderkarte (water touring map) for the Potsdam and Brandenburg Havel Lakes.
