You can enjoy the splendour of the cultural landscape and orchards all around the town of Werder (Havel) while cycling on this trail. Let your gaze wonder over the extensive orchards and the wonderful landscape of the Havel lakeland from the heights of Fuchsberg Hill (sometimes called Telegrafenberg) and Karfunkelberg Hill. The trail takes you past splendid orchards and berry farmland, whose land owners have rediscovered past traditions and reintroduced cultivation techniques that grow produce on different levels and on orchard meadows (with scattered fruit trees), as well as the largest plantation of sweet cherries in Germany. Signposts along the 'Panoramaweg' (Panorama trail) indicate worthwhile sights, local fruit varieties and traditional forms of farming. These signs will also guide you to farms that sell local produce.

You have a good chance of spotting storks, beavers, kingfishers and grey herons in their natural setting on the 'Storchenradweg' (Stork bike trail). The vast landscape around Beetzsee Lake is part of the 'Naturpark Westhavelland' nature reserve. You start the tour at Brandenburg an der Havel and follow the western shore of Beetzsee Lake until Ketzür. Then you cross the former railway bridge at Lünow to the other side of Beetzsee Lake and continue southward back to the point of departure.

This trail will provide you with an excellent impression of the unique lake district around the town of Brandenburg an der Havel. It starts at the town centre ('Neustädtischer Markt') and runs southwest to Breitlingsee Lake. The bike trail runs directly along the shores of the lake between Wilhelmsdorf and Kirchmöser. Then it continues until Plaue where the trail enters the palace gardens (Schlosspark) and takes you through to the other side. Cross the old Plauer Brücke bridge to get to the other side of the Havel River. Cycle down the bike trail north of Plauer See Lake and pass by Quenzsee Lake. Then continue along the dike of the Silokanal back to the town centre.

The European Bicycle Route R1 connects Europe's capitals and cuts straight through Germany's scenic Havelland. Coming from the north, you first cross the historic Glienicker Brücke bridge arriving at Potsdam. The Havel River and its extensive waterways will be your permanent companion along the trail, starting in Potsdam. Between Potsdam and Geltow the 'Europaradweg R1' (European Bicycle Route R1) coincides with the 'Havel-Radweg' (Havel bike trail) and then turns south following the vast shores of Schwielowsee Lake.

The Brandenburg tour encompassing over 1,111 km is one of the longest bike trails in Germany. The trail passes by Berlin crossing the entire State of Brandenburg. In the Havelland it invites you to tour through historic town centres and traditional villages of the Mark Brandenburg. Coming from the south, the Brandenburg tour first takes you to Kloster Lehnin, where you can visit the famous Cistercian Abbey. The route coincides with the 'Havel-Radweg' (Havel bike trail) between Götz and Brandenburg an der Havel. The Brandenburg tour is identical to the '7-Seen-Tour' (7 lakes tour) and the 'Havel-Radweg' (Havel bike trail) around the Westliche Havelseenplatte lakeland and further until Pritzerbe.

The 'Havel-Radweg' (Havel bike trail) is one of the most beautiful cycling routes along a riverfront in Germany. The landscape along the bike trail is marked by the fascinating riverscape of the Havel with its numerous other waterways and romantic branches. The trail runs along the left bank of the Havel River until the town of Brandenburg an der Havel, if you come from Potsdam or Werder (Havel). The trail coincides with the '7-Seen-Tour' (7 lakes tour) on the segment between the historic town centre of Brandenburg an der Havel and Plaue an der Havel.
